I have been wanting to make a blog post about this for a while. As a style blogger, we’re always talking about how to style your favorite t-shirt or summer dress trends — but I honestly think what you wear underneath your clothes makes the outfit as well.
Some of you may think this is a creepy/cringy topic and some of you may enjoy it. In the least creepy way possible, I’m going to be sharing my favorite undergarments and what every woman should own. We’re all ladies here so I wanted to share this as a resource.
We wear all different style of clothing such as strapless dresses, thin shirts, fitted pants, and more. When wearing these items, you don’t want to put on the wrong undergarment because it will throw off the entire outfit. No one wants to see panty lines or bra straps (LOL).
1.) Strapless Bra
I used to be terrified of strapless bras. I’m not sure why, but I used to be so intimidated by them. Having a strapless bras are an essential for when you wear tank tops that may possibly show your bra straps or if you’re wearing an off the shoulder top/dress, and for a strapless dress. I’ve also noticed that a lot of formal dresses will require a strapless bra.
2.) T-Shirt Bra
The term originated from being able to wear a bra under a white t-shirt. They are smooth, padded and sometimes underwired. You can wear with t-shirts or under any loose or tightly fit tops.
3.) Convertible Bra
This is going to be your most versatile bra. The straps can turn into a racer-back, strapless, and one shoulder. These are great for quick fixes to a complicated outfit and it’s like having three bras in one so it can be cost effective as well.
4.) Push Up Bra
Push up bras tend to have additional padding to lift up the breast. These are typically worn with evening wear or tops that require more filling out.
Now this is my favorite style of bra! I’m not a huge bra fan unless I have to wear one, but bralettes are my favorite alternative for when I don’t need a traditional bra. They are super comfortable and bearable to wear all day.
6.) Nipple Covers
I would typically wear nipple covers for blog shoots so I wouldn’t have to change my bra as often. But they are great if you wear a top or dress that doesn’t require a bra but you don’t want your nipples showing.
7.) Sports Bra
This is pretty self explanatory but having a good sports bra is great to give you some coverage while working out.
Made for minimal coverage and to avoid panty lines (come on ladies we’re grown, I despise panty lines). You can wear thongs with form fitting dresses and skirts, and leggings.
Super versatile and can be worn with anything. Great for additional coverage and they sit below the waist.
Similar to the bikini but briefs have more coverage from front to back. They are designed to be comfortable. I like to wear briefs when it’s that time of the month for the additional coverage and they’re great with high and low rise jeans.
4.) Boy Short
I love boy shorts! They are perfect for casual wear and lounging around the house. Also Boy shorts have a lower cut leg and can be similar to a hipster.
The name speaks for its self this style sits right on the hip and below the waist.
My favorite type of underwear! They come in the most comfortable fabrics. You can wear these with pretty much anything. They come in all types of styles such as thongs, bikinis, briefs, and more.
1.) Shape wear
I love wearing shape wear. I don’t wear it everyday, but perfect for evening wear and night out dresses. It’s the perfect addition to make everything look seamless and it snatches you in.
I add these to wear under shirts for additional coverage. These are also great to wear with itchy sweaters or loose fitting shirts that don’t require a bra.
