Ouai Curl Creme Review

Ouai Curl Creme Review

While chatting with a work friend, we were talking about our hair routines and products. She asked have I tried any products from the Ouai and she told me to try out the curl creme. I was a little skeptical at first, but her and I have similar hair textures so I decided to put it to the test.

The curl creme is Ouai’s first product geared towards curly hair. For the past two years, Ouai has been working with women of all curly textures to concoct the perfect styling product. The Ouai curl creme is here and it’s forumlated for all curly hair types.

To be honest when I hear a product works for “all hair types”, it tends to be hit or miss.  Especially when it’s from a brand that’s not geared towards natural/textured hair. Ouai is a brand that is always evolving and staying on trend so I had to try it out for myself.

The Ingredients

  • Chia and linseed oils to shape curls and control frizz
  • Coconut oil to hydrate
  • Babassu oil to condition, shine, and soften

It’s silicone free which is a MUST for natural hair and there’s also a fragrance free version.

How did I use Ouai Curl Creme?

My go to style is a twist out and I used the Ouai Detox shampoo, Ouai fine to medium conditioning treatment mask and Ouai leave in conditioner. My usual twist out products are a leave in, cream, and gel. To get the full effect of the product, I only used a leave in and the curl creme.

Once I applied the creme, I noticed my curls defining right away. I applied the creme and twisted my hair. My tip is to apply the creme on soaking wet hair to enhance your curls.

Should you try Ouai Curl Creme?

My recommendation is yes! The creme is light weight and doesn’t buildup. My hair texture is 3C-4A so it’s perfect for a twist out or quick wash and go. If your texture is a little more coarse, I would suggest using a gel with the creme.
