Work From Home Essentials

Work From Home Essentials

Long time no… blog? It’s been a while since I have published a new post, but if you saw my Instagram announcement, then you will know why. I will explain in a later post.

Like many of you, COVID- 19 is on our minds and has us with this feeling of uncertainty and shifted our daily routine. As I’m writing this post, I’m on day two of being off work for two weeks and I’m going to use this time to be as productive as possible.

Working from home can be a blessing and a curse.. If you execute it the right way, it can be very successful. As a digital entrepreneur, I have a lot of work from home days. Essentially, I run my business from home. Also with my jobs in the past, I have had the pleasure to be able to work from home sometimes. Other than having food in the fridge and a strong internet connection, here are some other essentials that will get you through your #WFH (work from home) days.

Chic Loungewear

While working from home, it’s easy to work in your pajamas or skip a few showers. Actually take the time to still get ready as if you were leaving the house. Not to say you have to sit in the house in a three piece suit, incorporating some chic loungewear pieces into your wardrobe will have you comfy and cute at the same time!

Simple Makeup

If you have to jump on a video call or just want to feel normal and still apply a little bit of makeup, adding some easy beauty essentials into your routine.

Self care throughout the Day

The plus side of working from home is that no one can see you. While checking/responding to emails, you can multi task by putting on a much needed sheet mask or hair treatment.

 Coffee

Even though we can still hit up the drive thru at Starbucks for our coffee, it can really add up — especially if you’re working from home. This is the perfect time to invest in a coffee machine. I don’t know what I will do without my Keurig! I have saved so much money by making coffee at home. Also, during self quarantine, do you really want to keep leaving the house for your vanilla latte?

Efficient Appliances

If you’re used to ordering out for lunch everyday, this is the perfect time to eat at home. I’m pretty much dependent on my Air Fryer and Instant pot. I can throw meats and veggies in there, walk away and in 15-20 mins, lunch is ready!

Local Restaurants/Local Fast Food

Sometimes eating at home can be very boring and can get old quickly. A lot of restaurants have closed dine in hours and are only allowing drive thru, carry out, or delivery. Support your local small business restaurants in your area by ordering lunch. During this time, small businesses and mom and pop restaurants are going to take the hit before the McDonalds and Chipotles.

I want to end this post by asking — how are you taking care of you? During this weird time of stress, anxiety, and uncertainty, your mental health is important. This too shall pass, everything is going to be okay. Even though we have no idea on when things will go back to normal, the only thing you and myself can do is focus. Stay safe, stay home if needed, drink water and eat your veggies!

I highly, highly recommend local restaurants! It’s a great way to support fellow entrepreneurs in their time of need, and a ton of places are doing curbside pick-up to avoid the spreading of germs! Quick and easy, and so many delicious options! These are great ideas when you’re working from home.

Yes to all these essentials! I’m taking care of myself by still getting dressed in the morning. Though I’m a WAHM so life really isn’t all that different haha!
